Introduction to Computers and the Internet

Introduction to Word

This introductory course is designed for students who desire the skills necessary to create, edit, format and print basic Microsoft Office Word 2013 documents. You will also learn how to insert pictures, clip art and borders. This is an introduction to Word 2013 which will help you use the software in the creation of documents such as letters, reports, newsletters, or cover pages and then format your document to look good!

Marketing With Facebook

Using Power School

Power School is a secure web-based student management system designed to strengthen communication between the school and home. It provides parents and legal guardians, online access to their children’s progress in school. Parents are able to create a Power School account and link it to each of their children’s accounts by using the access codes supplied by the school. Do you know how to use the Power School online system used by both Grande Yellowhead and Parkland School Divisions?

For Grande Yellowhead you can see attendance, assignment marks, tests and any missed assignments. Parkland School Division shows fees due, method of payment, marks, attendance and assignments for high school students.

Power School is an excellent tool to support your student and help them stay on track and we can help you understand how to use it!

This course will expand your knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets by working with more complex worksheets using named ranges, nested functions, ‘if ‘conditions and conditional formatting. Once we have the data we will then look at how to chart it.

Be Internet Savvy: Know More Than Your Kids!

Today’s parenting includes the online world. The Net is a great tool, but can pose challenges and risks and your child may know more than you – that’s okay. Open communication is critical. In this workshop, you will gain awareness, learn how kids use the internet, understand the challenges and will be given practical tools and guidelines.

Got an iPad, but not quite sure what to do with it? This two afternoon, beginner level class will take you through the basics of using an iPad. This will include surfing the Internet, installing apps, buying books and music, and much more.
